"Magia, Épica e Historiografía Hispánicas: Relaciones Literarias y Nomológicas"
El Proyecto "Magia, Épica e Historiografía Hispánicas: Relaciones Literarias y Nomológicas" tiene como finalidad promover la generación de conocimiento científico y la investigación de calidad en el ámbito temático que expresa su título, mediante la difusión de sus resultados. La idea es, pues, proceder al estudio conjunto de dos géneros íntimamente relacionados, la épica y la historiografía, pero con especial atención al papel desempeñado por la magia y la maravilla en sus distintas manifestaciones. Este objetivo se aborda fundamentalmente desde dos perspectivas. Por un lado, la literaria, que pone el énfasis tanto en el contexto sociocultural como en los condicionantes internos de la producción literaria, en particular el concepto de epojé estética, vinculado al problema de la neutralización medieval y renacentista de la distinción aristotélica entre poesía (épica) e historia, pero también muy especialmente al papel de la magia, a la hora de establecer si actúa como correlato de creencias extraliterarias o como un mecanismo eminentemente intraliterario, al margen del grado de efectividad real que se le atribuya. Por otro lado se halla la perspectiva nomológica, que afecta no solo a la dimensión legal, algo siempre importante en el ámbito de la magia (debido a su alteridad respecto de las prácticas oficialmente aceptadas), así como en la épica (en la que muchos conflictos se plantean en clave jurídica), sino a otros dos planos que, en definitiva, resultan de mayor calado para el análisis propuesto: por un lado el concepto de "necesidad" literaria (ἀνάγκη), por otro, la noción de "estética del Derecho", que implica una nueva lectura de la esfera del derecho y la literatura.

SUMMARY:
The purpose of the Project Hispanic Magic, Epic and Historiography: Literary and Nomological Relationshipsis to engage in rigorous research and publication in the areas included in its title. The central idea is to study two intimately connected genres, epic and historiography, with special attention to the role of magic and marvel in their specific manifestations. The Project addresses this objective from two main perspectives. One the one hand, the Project uses a literary perspective, with emphasis on both sociocultural context and internal determinates of literary production, especially the concept of esthetic epoché. Epoché, in turn, is connected with the issue of the medieval and renaissance neutralization of the Aristotelian distinction between (epic) poetry and history, and also and most particularly with the role of magic, in establishing if magic serves as a correlate of extraliterary beliefs, or as a mechanism that is eminently intraliterary, outside of the degree of real effectiveness that it is attributed. On the other hand, the Project employs a nomological perspective, that impacts not only the legal dimension, something that is always important in the area of magic (due to its alterity with regards to officially accepted practices), as well as the epic (in that many conflicts are set out in juridical terms), but also in two other levels that are of more importance for the present work: on the one hand, the concept of literary "necessity" (ἀνάγκη), and on the other, the notion of the "Esthetics of the Law," which entails a new reading of the field of law and literature.
